FAQs
Are you DBS checked?
Yes, I hold an up-to-date DBS certificate and will share this with you before beginning tuition.
Where will lessons take place?
I come to your home for all sessions. I would ask that we have a quiet, well-lit room to work in with a desk and chairs. I will provide all other materials.
How far will you travel for sessions?
In general I work only in Exeter but, in some instances, I travel outside the city.
How long will sessions be?
Generally, sessions are an hour in length, but this can be adjusted depending on the needs and ages of pupils.
How much do you charge?
I charge £35 per hour.
How will we pay you?
I accept cash, cheques or payment by online bank transfer.
What happens during half terms and school holidays?
In general, we pause tuition sessions during half terms and holidays so that children can recharge their batteries and spend time with families. However, in the run up to important exams it may make good sense to continue sessions during breaks, and this can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
What happens if sessions need to be cancelled?
I completely understand the need to be flexible in view of families’ busy lives. If I need to cancel a session, I will give you as much warning as possible and try to reschedule for the same week where we can.
Obviously, you will not have to pay for any session that I cancel.
If you need to cancel a session, I would be really grateful for the same consideration. I will only charge you for a cancelled session if you cancel it on the day we are due to meet.
You may well have other questions or need further information from me so please do get in touch and we can discuss what you are looking for.
